ASAP District 2 Conference |
Date/Time: Annually in February
Location: The hosting college/university within District 2
Description: The District 2 Conference is an opportunity for collaboration among organizations in our geographic area who are dedicated to educational advancement. While at the conference, student members and advisors from colleges and universities within the district coordinate, teach and attend sessions to help other student advancement groups be more affective upon their return to their respective campuses.
Contribution to our mission: By attending the District 2 Conference, we are able learn about new programs and activities that other organizations provide and incorporate those ideas into our programming.
Value added: USAB has incorporated ideas learned at the District 2 Conference and has also provided other schools with ideas on how to better their organization. |

Member of the Month/Year |
Date/Time: Once a month throughout the fall and spring semesters
Location: First general meetings of the month
Description: Prior to the first general membership meeting of each month, each Executive Board member shall submit to the VP of Membership their nomination for member of the month for the previous month with their reasons for nominating the member. Member of the month candidates must have displayed exceptional dedication to the USAB and/or UBAA/OAR for the month. Candidates do not need to be active at time of nomination. Committee Chairs may be nominated only if they have gone above and beyond the duties and responsibilities of their position as listed in the USAB By-Laws. Each general member who was awarded member of the month during the year will be entered into a raffle for one $250 Member of the Year award given at the Final Dinner. Only those members of the month who are active at the date of the final dinner are eligible. Committee chairs are not eligible for member of the year.
Contribution to our mission: By having a member of the month, our organization recognizes those members who have gone above and beyond their duties.
Value added: This award will encourage general members, as well as committee chairs to show strong dedication to the organization. |

| New Member Orientation |
Date/Time: Prior to the membership meeting on the third Sunday of September
Location: Student Union
Description: The Orientation curriculum is structured to educate members, especially those new to the organization, about our purpose and objectives as well as the way in which we operate. This is done through studying the Member Guide and its focuses
Contribution to our mission: Members learn the vision, mission and strategic initiatives of the organization during orientation. They also learn methods by which to work towards our vision.
Value added: After going through orientation, members should be well-versed on the basic structure and operations of the organization and should know who to contact for further assistance and development as a member. They should also be prepared to continue pursuing the Membership Development Program, and progress through each focus with a clear understanding of our expectations of them as members. |

Socials and Outreaches |
Date/Time: Various dates/times throughout the fall and spring semesters
Location: Varies
Description: Every semester, the USAB Social and Outreaches committee chair will develop 3 socials and 2 outreaches. The Social and Outreaches chair is also responsible for coordinating the annual Welcome Back Picnic, to be held in the beginning of the fall semester, the annual Holiday Dinner, to be held at the end of the fall semester, and the Final Awards Dinner, to be held at the end of the spring semester. The USAB budget shall partially fund up to three official social events per semester as a benefit of membership.
Contribution to our mission: Socials and outreaches help members become better connected with each other and also better connected to the University. Alumni are also invited to participate in socials and outreaches, providing the opportunity for students-alumni connections.
Value added: Socials and outreaches provide members with the chance to strengthen bonds with other fellow members. They also provide student-alumni interactions. |
