Do you have a question about the UB Alumni Association, your membership or events? Before you call, check here for the answer. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact us.
- Q. Why don’t I get correspondence or e-mail from UB?
A. Our records indicate that you requested not to receive any communication from UB. This type of request includes access to UB Connect, the online community. If you would like access to UB Connect, simply contact us and we can reinstate you. However, by doing so, you will begin to receive other UB correspondence as well.
- Q. I do not wish to receive any communication from UB.
-
- A. Simply contact the alumni office and we will update our records. Please note, there may be a brief delay until the change goes into effect, and during the interim you may receive information from UB.
Q. I want to register on UB Connect, but I can’t find my name in the search results.
A. Search for your name using last name and first initial only. If your name has changed since you graduated, try searching by your student last name.
- Q. I have new contact information and would like to update it with UB.
A. Whenever you have a change to your contact information (home or e-mail address, phone number, work address, etc.) you may make those updates at any time via UB Connect, the online community exclusively for UB alumni. All you have to do is register (it’s free), find your profile and make any changes necessary, 24/7/365. To register or login to the community, simply click on the “UB Connect” tab on the alumni Web site. Or, you may contact us and we will be happy to update your record.
- Q. How do I submit a class note?
- A. The easiest way is to post your class note anytime on UB Connect, the online community for UB alumni. If you are not already registered, all you have to do is visit the “UB Connect” tab on the alumni web site, and follow the instructions for first-time users. Then look for the Class Notes tab on the left-hand navigation bar.
- Q. May I keep MY UB e-mail address after I graduate?
A. If you graduated in May 2009 or later, yes, you may opt-in to keep your UB mail address, powered by Google. Note for alumni prior to May 2009: You will also be able to reinstate your UB e-mail address, but not until a future date. You will be contacted with instructions when the opt-in period is available for you. In the meantime, you may register for a permanent e-mail forwarding address through UB Connect, the online community exclusively for UB alumni. If you are not already registered for UB Connect, all you have to do is visit the “UB Connect” tab on the alumni web site, and follow the instructions for Permanent e-mail. (Note that this is simply an e-mail forwarding service, and not a mailbox. Any mail sent to you will be forwarded to the e-mail inbox of your choice.) Your e-mail will be: NAME@ub-alumni.org. Do NOT forward to a UB e-mail account that has been deactivated.
- Q. I have a news release about a recent accomplishment.
A. If you are a UB alumnus and the news is about you, you may post the information as a class note anytime on UB Connect, the online community for UB alumni. Once registered, click the Class Notes tab in the left-hand navigation. If you are submitting a news release on behalf of a UB alumnus (for example, if you are in a public relations function at your company), you may e-mail it to the alumni office. The note will be considered for publication in a future issue of the alumni magazine. In addition, please let the alumnus know that he/she should also post the class note on UB Connect.
- Q. I am a member of the UB Alumni Association. How do I get my on-campus parking permit?
A. Members may obtain an application for an annual parking pass from the Office of Alumni Relations, either in person or by phone. Completed applications must be returned to the university parking office, and a hangtag will be issued. Please note that parking passes expire annually on August 31, and must be renewed yearly.
