Meet a Mentor (Career Networking Program)

Help UB students and recent graduates choose a career, learn about the world of work, and develop the networking skills they need to succeed!  Administered by UB Career Services, the Meet-a-Mentor program is a rewarding volunteer experience that allows you to share your own background and experiences – don’t you wish you knew then what you know now? Best of all, the program has been designed to accommodate busy schedules. As a mentor, your responsibilities can range from simple phone or e-mail interactions, to a work-site tour or series of mentoring sessions. You set the parameters based on how much time you have.

Interested? Get in touch with Laura Cornwall (Office of Alumni Relations) at (716) 645-3312 or 1-800-284-5382 for more info.

Real Life 101

As a UB alumnus who's "been there done that," you have the wisdom, insight and friendly UB spirit to impart on today's students.  Our goal is to bring alumni and students together for informal conversations about career paths and UB experiences for a positive connection outside of the classroom.  This event provides you with the opportunity to discuss your career path and the work you do, your UB experience and to share tips and encouragement to students considering their plans for life after UB.

UB Alumni Association

Few events would be possible without the alumni who serve on one of our many alumni association committees, such as Finance, Communications/Marketing, Membership and Programming. You do not have to be a board member to serve on a committee. If you are interested in learning more about being on a committee, please contact Laura Cornwall at (716) 645-3312 for more information.

Host or attend a Dinner for 12 Strangers!

"Dinner for 12 Strangers" is a program that builds and strengthens the UB community by creating an informal environment for UB alumni and current students to make real connections with one another.

It’s simple -- six alumni and six students come together over a meal and leave as 12 new friends.
